Looking to shorten your workout without sacrificing results? Seeking some quick workouts but don’t know where to start?
Let’s face the facts, in today’s world, life is busy and one of the biggest reasons why many people stop their workout protocol is because they simply don’t have the time of day to get the workouts in.
Therefore, in order to assure that you do maintain the course on your workout protocol, it can be helpful to know how to create short, yet highly effective workout sessions.
That’s precisely what we’re going to go over here today.
If you design your workouts properly, you can actually see better results doing them shorter than you would with longer workouts in place.
Let’s go over what you need to know.
The very first thing that you should consider if you want to shorten your workouts but still see great results is supersetting two exercises back to back. This is where you will take one exercise, perform all reps of it, and then move directly into a second exercise without resting in between.
Once both exercises are completed, then you can rest for the desired amount of time before carrying on once again.
The advantage to this technique is that first, you’ll do your workout in half the time since you are supersetting those exercises back to back and second, you’ll create a strong metabolic effect in the body.
Because you’re doing the exercises back to back, you’re forcing your body to do more work in less time, which cranks your metabolic rate up a notch.
This is perfect for those who want to burn fat quickly.
The second way to experience strong metabolic conditioning and get into better physical shape is to interval train. Interval training is a superior form of cardio training that will help ensure strong cardiovascular gains while also enhancing your overall speed and power capabilities as well.
Interval training is where you will alternate periods of short intense exercise with periods of active rest, doing this protocol six to eight times before finishing the session.
Take note that many programs follow this approach as well, such as the 30 Day Shred. It’s what makes these programs so effective for fat burning.
So there you have two ways to shorten your workouts and see even better results.
In the next article of this series, we’ll go over 2 more ways to shorten your workout.
