Getting control over your food cravings is going to be very important because for many people, it’s their food cravings that typically derails their diet plan entirely. If you aren’t making smart food choices that will both make your diet more sound, but yet make it more interesting as well, it’s highly likely that you will succumb to food cravings.
That said, as long as you’re willing to get a little creative, you can definitely choose foods wisely that will both satisfy your taste buds as well as your health.
Let’s look at another French fry recipe that you can try out, time with zucchini so it’s an even lighter option to consider.
3 small zucchini, sliced into fry shapes
¼ cup coconut flour
¼ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. garlic powder
½ cup almond milk
1 cup dry breadcrumbs
Directions for Zucchini Fries to Control Cravings
Begin by pre-heating the oven to 420 degrees. Make a line of 3 dishes with the flour and spices, milk, and breadcrumbs in each. Slice the zucchini into sticks and then dip each one into the mixture in the order they’re lined out.
Place on a non-stick baking sheet and place in the oven for about 18-20 minutes or until they’re tender and crisp.
Serve immediately. Note that while you can save these for left-overs, they will definitely taste the best if you serve them fresh instead.
Just like with sweet potatoes, there are a number of variations you can use with this recipe as well. Parmesan cheese works incredibly well with zucchini French fries and will add a bit more calcium as well as protein to the dish.
Or, you can try using a number of herbs and spices as well, once again oregano, basil, and cayenne pepper all work great to enhance the flavor and taste of these fries.
